Counselling Psychologist, D.Phill., SEP — Pretoria & Telehealth
I provide individual, couples, and teen therapy to help with anxiety, depression, stress, relationships, grief, and life transitions. Sessions are warm, collaborative, and evidence-based, drawing from CBT, ACT, and mindfulness. Spiritual integration available on request.
Dr Helena Niedinger is a dedicated Counselling Psychologist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) based in Pretoria, South Africa. With deep compassion and professional expertise, she supports individuals, couples, and families through emotional pain, trauma, relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, addiction, self-esteem challenges, and spiritual conflict.
Dr Niedinger integrates psychological science, body-based therapeutic methods, and — where appropriate — spiritual perspectives to help clients access deeper healing and long-term emotional wellbeing.
Her approach is grounded in the belief that:
• True healing involves both the mind and body.
• Personal growth requires self-understanding, self-compassion, and resilience.
• You don’t have to be defined by your past — transformation is possible at any stage of life.
Anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship conflict, low self-esteem, grief, and major life changes can feel overwhelming. Therapy offers a safe place to understand what's getting in the way and build skills to move forward.
Real experiences from clients who found relief, clarity, and confidence through therapy. Read a few stories that illustrate what can change with the right support.
Therapy works best when you feel seen and understood. My approach is warm, culturally sensitive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and grounded in proven methods. Together, we'll set goals and take manageable steps forward.
